Uganda's annual National Day of Prayer drew an estimated crowd of over 80,000 worshippers to Kololo Airstrip in Kampala on 1 March 2026, as Church leaders, government officials, and believers from every denomination united in prayer for the nation's peace, prosperity, and spiritual renewal.

The theme for this year's gathering was "Seek the Lord and Live" (Amos 5:4), a call for both the Church and the nation to return to God amid challenges of poverty, corruption, and social breakdown. The service was jointly organised by the Uganda Joint Christian Council, the Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches of Uganda, and the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council in a rare expression of interfaith solidarity.

Archbishop Kazimba led prayers for the government and national healing, while Bishop David Kiganda of Watoto Church preached a message calling on Uganda to humble herself before God. President Museveni, who has presided over the National Day of Prayer for over two decades, renewed Uganda's national covenant with God and called on Ugandans to prioritise integrity and justice.

The service concluded with a march through the streets of Kampala, which participants described as one of the most powerful public expressions of Christian faith the city has seen in recent memory. The next National Day of Prayer is scheduled for 28 February 2027.
