Uganda's annual National Prayer Breakfast brought together over 1,200 church leaders, government ministers, Members of Parliament, business leaders, and diplomats at the Kampala Serena Hotel on 10 February 2026, for a morning of prayer, worship, and reflection on the intersection of faith and public life.

The event, organised jointly by the Uganda Joint Christian Council and the Presidential Advisory Committee on Moral and Ethics, has been held annually since 2001 and is modelled on the Washington DC National Prayer Breakfast. This year's theme was "Faith, Integrity, and the Common Good."

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Emmanuel Katongole, a Ugandan theologian and professor at the University of Notre Dame, who challenged Uganda's leaders to embody what he called "a politics of gentleness" — governance shaped by the virtues of the Kingdom of God rather than the zero-sum logic of power. His address drew a prolonged standing ovation.

Several ministers testified to the personal impact of faith on their public service. The morning concluded with an extended time of corporate prayer for Uganda's national healing, economic development, and the 2026 elections.
