The Uganda Bible Society (UBS) has announced the completion of its landmark "Bible for Every Home" campaign, having successfully distributed over 500,000 Bibles to homes in remote communities across Uganda's 10 most underserved districts, including Kotido, Moroto, Adjumani, and Yumbe.

The three-year campaign, supported by donations from churches across Uganda and international partners including the American Bible Society and Biblica, targeted communities where Bibles were either unaffordable or entirely unavailable. Each Bible was provided free of charge and accompanied by a literacy support programme run by trained local volunteers.

"The Bible is not just a book — it is the living Word of God, and every home in Uganda deserves one," said UBS General Secretary Rev. Canon Grace Kaiso at a celebration event in Kampala. "Today we rejoice not just in the numbers, but in the lives that have been touched — the families who are reading Scripture together for the first time, the communities where house churches have started because someone received a Bible."

The Society announced that Phase Two of the campaign will target a further 300,000 homes by 2028, with a particular focus on newly printed Bibles in Lugbara, Acholi, Langi, and Ateso languages.
